1940s Singer & Kantor Enameled Old Lady in Shoe Pin
This fantastic 1940s enameled figural pin depicts the Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe of Mother Goose nursery rhyme fame. This is nicely detailed, with the old lady leaning on a cane on the shoe's front porch, with little children peeking out of the attic and windows. There is even a little kid perched on the roof near the stonework chimney. A set of stairs connects the porch to the ground, and there is even a dimensional porch railing. A lot of effort went into creating this little work of art! The shoe measures 2 1/2" width and height and is marked on reverse with the LB inside bell symbol of Singer & Kantor. Pieces by this maker, especially of this complexity, are not easy to come by. Condition is very good with some mild enamel loss and metal tarnishing. - $400
