Incredible 1970s Modernist Ocean Blue Lucite Pendant This incredible 1970s modernist lucite pendant necklace is to die for, one of the absolute best I've ever seen. Who cares about Lanvin when this amazing piece beckons? The semi-translucent ocean blue color with white and green marbling is so very striking, the chunky teardrop-shaped pendant measuring 2 5/8" height and suspended from a 17 3/4" silver-tone metal snake chain with spring-ring clasp. Kay Denning Copper Enamel Earrings ~ Southwestern Colors
Very desirable color scheme in these unsigned Kay Denning copper enamel earrings. If you own the matching pieces, you know just how gorgeous this blend of Southwestern colors is, with a subtle blend of pale blue, lavender and gray on white background. 7/8" with screwback mechanism (buyer could readily replace these with glue-on posts or clips). Very good condition apart from some tiny flea-bites to the enameling on some corners, noticeable only upon close inspection. - $40
Kunio Matsumoto for Trifari Modernist Lucite & Bead Parure Space Age modernist design! This signed Kunio Matsumoto for Trifari parure consists of choker necklace, hinged clamper bracelet and clipback earrings and was produced in 1986. The design and construction are simply outstanding, and so characteristic of the talented Matsumoto.
The necklace features a rigid curved centerpiece that appears segmented but is actually a single piece, molded to resemble graduated links. The lucite is a pearlescent opaque off-white tone with a clear top laminated layer. Chrome bands wrap around to look like separator bars. One side of the lucite centerpiece is balance with two chrome segments of stretchy "gaspipe" (very Art Deco in style!) and then round white plastic beads are accented with clear lucite beads and chrome disc spacers strung on double-thick nylon filament. Centerpiece measures approximately 6" and total necklace length is approximately 17" with hook and o-ring closure.
Side-hinged clamper bracelet is similar in style with a brushed metal surface. Measures just over 1" wide at the front, 1/2" wide at the back, 2 1/4" inside width (bracelet is oval in shape). Clipback earrings measure 1 1/4" in height.
All pieces are signed Trifari, and the bracelet and necklace are also marked with the Kunio Matsumoto script signature. Condition overall is excellent, with some bubbles and slight ripples in places between the laminated lucite layers. There is also a very tiny bit of nicking to the plating right where the flexible gas pipe metal is connected to the metal end caps; this is observable only upon close scrutiny and is not visible at all from the front of the piece. Designer Kunio Matsumoto designed this modernist segmented necklace for Trifari. Cream and black enamel on abstract shapes, graduated in size, with textured goldtone metal backing. Circa 1970's, this piece looks fresh out of the box. Approximately 18" with foldover clasp. - $160
Kunio Matsumoto for Trifari Purple & Burgundy Lucite Necklace & Pin Kunio Matsumoto for Trifari signed purple and burgundy necklace and brooch set. 33" necklace features two strands of beads -- dark and light purple -- with a molded paisley-shaped chunky lucite centerpiece in laminated dark purple, burgundy and light purple. On the opposite side of the necklace is a similarly shaped paisley in matte goldtone metal plating. Necklace slips over the head. Matching paisley-shaped brooch measures 2 1/2" across. AVON 1976 Contempora Pendant ~ Faux Turquoise
Signed AVON pendant appeared in the 1976 catalog. Called "Contempora," this has an Arts & Crafts modernist look, with a possible Southwestern influence. Gunmetal silver tone setting gives it an aged look, and the rectangular dangles have a hammered surface. Imitation turquoise is set at the top. 3 1/2" height. Very good vintage condition. - $10

TRIFARI Modernist Necklace ~ Sage Green Lucite Pendant
The Hollywood starlets are showing up wearing these 1970's modernist lucite pendant necklaces, and suddenly they are hot hot hot! This version by TRIFARI features a sage green lucite pendant measuring just under 2", with goldtone metal inserts to create a geometric line effect. Brush-textured open-work backing is marked Crown Trifari in block letters. 24" gold-tone snake chain has spring-ring clasp and Trifari dangle charm. Condition is excellent with no plating wear. - $115
MONET Space Age Mod Red & Gray Lucite Necklace
This is a fabulous space-age look necklace by Monet, so modernist with lucite cylinder and disc beads in smoky gray, wine red, pearlized white in the center (accented by smaller goldtone metal discs), with upper strands of translucent wine-red round beads. The necklace actually fits more like a choker (my model has a very slim neck). 18" length with spring-ring clasp. Excellent condition. - $45
Kay Denning Purple & Blue Copper Enamel Parure
Kay Denning copper enamel choker necklace, bracelet and brooch parure in a striking shade of bluish-purple. Rectangular links (slightly curved in the necklace) feature Denning's characteristic fused glass "cookies" with a touch of gold-colored highlights; white counter-enameling. 14 1/2" necklace, 7" length bracelet, both with fold-over clasps. Triangular rounded edge brooch measures 2" x 2 3/8". Necklace and bracelet are both signed K. Denning. Brooch is unmarked.
Condition is very good overall, with some enamel fleabites, scrapes and edge roughness to reverse. There are a couple of small enamel chips on the front: one on a necklace link right near a metal connector, and one on a bracelet link corner next to the clasp. These small chips are observable upon close scrutiny and do not detract from the overall appearance. - $350

Trifari Modernist Peachy Pink & Chrome Heart Necklace
This is one incredible necklace -- very Art Deco with its geometric lines and a design not easily found. It looks like it could be the work of Kunio Matsumoto, although only the block letter 1980s/90s TRIFARI logo appears. Chunky pearlized lucite heart measures 2 5/8" height and is just over 1/4" thick. It is cut in a stylistic shape, with matte-finish chrome bands set over. The chrome effects continues with pieces riveted underneath the heart, and gas-pipe style flexible neck chains with matte-finish end pieces and foldover clasp. 23" length; beautiful condition. - $300
