An early piece by ROBERT, circa WWII era, this very dimensional figural pin features a smiling Asian man with hands clasped and eyes closed. Perhaps the smiling Buddha achieves Nirvana as a simple peasant? This burnished heavy metal piece is very well crafted, with colorful red, blue and green enameling on his shawl, and a hand-hammered finish to the top of his hat. Marked on back with script Robert signature. Measures slightly over 2". Condition is very good with some patinization and surface pitting to the metal; this is to be expected with some of these older pieces and in my view, adds to the charm. - $90
