Art Nouveau French Pin with Garnet ~ Scottish Thistle & Flowers
Circa 1900, this French Art Nouveau pin is hand-crafted in an openwork floral design and set with a genuine garnet. Marked "Fix" (indicating a heavy gold plate), this pin is beautifully made and quite detailed, with the flowing lines so typical of the Art Nouveau period. The flower to the left is a Scottish thistle, with delicate cross-hatching on the underside; the flower to the right is set with a garnet. T-shaped pin stem; c-clasp bears an illegible hallmark strike. 7/8" diameter; excellent condition. - $150
